You all know how much I love to cook. I’m not much of a baker however.  Don’t know why.  Maybe because you have to follow instructions which I’m just not so good at.  With cooking I can wing it much easier!  Anyway, I’ve never shared recipes on here before and was inspired to share today my favorite Molasses Cookies which come out so soft and yummy! I always go for the Chocolate Chip Cookies when offered but I have to say, these ones deserve a chance to stand up to the Chocolate Chip.

Here’s the recipe –

Molasses Cookies

12 T butter

1 c sugar

1/4 c molasses

1 egg

1 3/4 c flour

1/2 t cloves

1/2 t ginger

1 t cinnamon

1/2 t salt

Melt butter and add it to sugar and molasses – stir until combined.  Lightly beat egg and add it to sugar mixture.  Mix dry ingredients together and add to sugar mixture.  Drop spoonfuls of dough (it’s slightly floppy dough) on a foil lined baking sheet.  Bake at 350 for 8-10 mins.   I pull them out before they look done and leave them to cool on the baking sheet.

Enjoy!
