Some of the most successful portrait sessions I have are when a client has spent time consulting with a stylist for their portrait session.  I find that consulting with a stylist for your portrait session creates a level of “Let’s do this” for the session and also gives my client a confidence and an inspiration that sometimes doesn’t come naturally to them.  Who doesn’t want to smile when they look and feel great?

Consulting with a stylist for your portrait session is fun and easy.   Most styling sessions are complementary, and you only pay for what you buy.  Many stylists will work with what you already have!

Purpose Boutique

My new favorite boutique is an example of this!  Purpose Boutique in Kirkland, WA (also in Silverdale and Tacoma). Kirkland Waterfront is my favorite place to shoot and now shop! Purpose has a great reputation for their expert styling and their selection.  The carry goods (some handmade!) from all over the world; apparel, to shoes, to jewelry and accessories, their selection is fabulous for many styles and personalities. I recently had the pleasure of photographing Annie during her styling session! Annie’s stylist,  Madi,  had a really fun outfits picked out for Annie making it super easy to pick her favorites! I’m mean look at her!

I can also recommend making an appointment with a stylist at Nordstrom. I’ve done this several times for special occasions and it just helps me feel like I’m walking away with the best outfit for the occasion.
