I was going to call this post Music Room Re-do and have the “Re” crossed out because we can’t really call it a redo if there was nothing there, right? Here’s what our music room (so called because the only bit of anything in there is the piano and a cello) has looked like for two years –
I told Lora that I wanted to do something with it and, oh yeah, can it be close to free? So we spent a day and went to two Goodwills. And we SCORED! Here’s what the back of Lora’s van looked like after our day –
My first part of our project has been to take these little foot stools –
Aren’t they cute?! Do you feel like they are “playful”? We thought this room shouldn’t be so serious as it’s the music room… Well, Lora thought that and I nodded. 🙂
One more thing about our shopping trip – the find of the day was the Pottery Barn sisal rug that fits perfectly in the room, is exactly the colors I love, was never used and was only $60! Here’s a close up –
I don’t know if you can tell from this photo but there is a strip of blue (wall color) a little straw yellow, warm gray and a camel color. Sigh. I’m in love with this rug!
Next project is the chairs. I’ve already spray painted them and bought the fabric. Stay tuned!
Yes — I, too, just nod when Lora makes a decorating decision … she is brilliant! Love love love the stools!
Oh, gosh, now that the whole world is watching, we really have to finish! Well, I work better under pressure. This week – we will reupholster!
TEASE!!!
Ooooh, this is better than HGTV! So chic!
Never doubt the power of the Lora Sugar combo. Trust me, I have numerous times, and I am always amazed to see what happens. We have some of the most unique pieces in our house. It is all because of the ability to see what could be, and then actually have the talent to make it happen!
