Summer is my favorite season.  I don’t know why I live in a place with really short summers and this summer was shorter than ever!  Sometimes I need reminders because I forget that all that rain makes this place beautiful!

But the thing that really keeps me here isn’t the lush green trees, beautiful lakes or the Sound but the people who live here.  I’d live here a whole year of rain if I could have just one day like this one –

In our neighborhood, we do this on any given weekend that is sunny and we’re home.  It even has a name – “Tom’s Best Day”.  Above is my neighbor Tom who loves nothing more than to get all the yard games out, super soakers, BBQs in the driveway and invite neighbors over.. It’s the best and the perfect way to close out our summer.

Maybe it’s my Best Day too.
