This post is going to be less about photography in Ireland and more about the experience of living there. Particularly about one of my favorite things – The Session.
A “Session” or a “Sing Song” is the inevitable outcome of any party in Ireland and often happens at any given pub around the country. Everyone seems to have their particular song and most need very little coaxing to start singing. Everyone joins in on the chorus or throughout the whole song if you know it. I love it so so much. There is nothing better than sitting around with friends and singing “Brown Eyed Girl” or belting out “Bye, bye miss American Pie…” until the wee hours.
I’ve introduced Kalle to you before. He’s my friend that wrote the soon-to-be new Irish Anthem 😉 He always brought his guitar to our house. I loved seeing him walk though the door with it, looking forward to the night ahead –
He also brought with him instruments for others to join in. Here’s Ben and R jamming together on harmonicas –
Sessions are a must for The Tour! Can’t wait!!
I must be Irish — my life as a musical and all. I love the pic of R and Ben… that is just perfect!
I want to climb into this post forever. And ever.
This post makes my heart very, very heavy.
