Sam
I took this Eastlake HS Senior for his Senior Portraits at the Downtown Bellevue Park. I felt very lucky to photograph Sam who is the nephew of dear friends of ours but I hadn’t met Sam before. Sam showed up to the park and was, well, a little more reluctant that some to be in front of the camera. But as we got to know each other, Sam really started to relax. It was hotter than blazes that day so I was proud of him for getting through it! He even stuck to his sweater outfit choice while I was eyeing the splash pad! I liked also that he had a choice of outfit that was “him”; T-shirt and shorts! I’d so much rather Senior’s pick clothes that represent who they are than wearing something their mom forced them to. It shows in the photos!
Downtown Bellevue Park is another great location for portraits. It has all my favorite photography elements in that there is a nice variety of backgrounds including. There’s a beautiful water feature, benches and paths and my favorite; lots of concrete! Concrete is ideal for not only allowing for some simple backgrounds but concrete, I think, is a great compliment to skin tones! Also, the pinkish crushed rock paths and formal shape of the park remind me of parks in Paris! I’m not joking! It’s a super location for Senior Portraits!
After graduation Sam told me he hopes to work at his gym helping people train and lift. He has a kind and patient way about him and I’m sure he’ll be well sought after as a trainer!
Best of luck to you Sam and you head out for the next adventure! I hope you have lots of success as a trainer. It was a pleasure meeting you!
