Maddy

You’re going to love these Senior Photos in Ballard! I keep trying to put words why I think these photos are powerful and I’m having a hard time with it. I think this is one of my favorite shoots of all time and the “why” is what I’m having trouble putting words to. The best I can come up with is that Maddy just carried herself as someone beyond her years who is who she is and is great with it.  She has a quiet confidence that I wasn’t actually prepared for.

I took Maddy’s sister’s photos a couple years ago. I wanted Maddy’s shots to be different but also reflect who she is so I suggested we head into Ballard to shoot there. I’m so glad she and her mom were game! I love all the graffiti, railroad tracks and back alleyways in Ballard.

And her eyes…Oh my word her eyes. They are absolutely stunning.  I dare you not to get swept up in them. I didn’t edit them at all!  I wanted them to show as is because they are show stoppers.

I have to also tell you that she dyes her hair a lot. I’ve seen it blue and I think green before as well as black and I can’t remember what else. And she dyed it right before her shoot. I mean she literally finished as her mom was telling her is was time to go. That takes guts ya’ll!

Once we’d finished and got all the shots I wanted to get, we still had good light so I asked her if she’d be willing to play a little and do shots I wouldn’t normally do like shooting in really hard light.  I’m so glad we did! Not only did we get some fun shots, we ended with my favorite shot of the night!

Gorgeous, right?!

Maddy, thank you for just being who you are and teaching an old lady like me how to be more comfortable with who I am. I look forward to seeing what you do next!
