Karin

Karin is a rower!  So where else should we go for her Senior Portrait but Pocock Rowing Club in Seattle, WA! If you’ve read “Boys in the Boat” by Daniel James Brown you can geek out with me over that! After our time at the boat house, we headed to Gas Works Park for the rest of her Senior photos.  I loved that she chose these places for her shoot. They tell a part of the story of this amazing girl and her smile tells the rest.

I know I’m lucky to live where I do. People might see our little cookie-cutter house built in the 60s development and not see much. To be honest, I didn’t either when I was first “forced” here from my beloved Greenlake Neighborhood in Seattle. Year after year, as I get to photograph another High School Senior from the ‘hood, I’m both humbled and giddy that this is the role I get to play. And I’m never flippant about the honor that it is. I want to show each Senior I’ve known that I see them and their beauty and I’m so honored to be “let in” in this way!

Karin is no exception to this story.  Another amazing Juanita Senior with the legacy of a whole second generation of Rebels! I’ve also had the honor of photographing each of her sisters before her and I’m sad that there are none behind her.

Her family added a “Sibling Add-On” to the Senior Portrait Session and wasted no time getting some great shots for them to treasure forever. Her sister Anna, as usual, had all the girls laughing. I love the shots of the girls laughing together.

Senior Portraits

Karin, thank you for allowing me to photograph you! It was such a fun night! I loved seeing you in your element at Pocock. Being in the boat house was such a fun treat! And hanging out with you and your mom was even better! All the best to you as you close this chapter and start a new one. Kingsgate is cheering you on, Girl!
