Jake

For Jake’s Senior Portraits, we met at St. Edwards State Park. I got to shoot a few Senior Sessions here this year and it never disappoints! A St. Edwards Park Senior Portrait Session is ideal because there are hiking trails, giant Willow trees, beautiful old pine trees (for the quintessential lean against a tree shot ?) as well as what we photographers refer to as “hardscape”; cool old buildings and structures, railings and walls.

As with so many of my clients, I took Jake’s older brother’s Senior pictures two years ago as well as did a Family Add-On for them. It’s so fun to watch a family grow up in pictures!

Jake’s family is a LaCrosse family! Both he and his brother played LaCrosse for Juanita and even went with them to State a couple years ago! Since I know virtually nothing about the sport other than it looks hard…it was fun to learn a bit more from Jake and his brother during Jake’s brother shoot but what I remember about that shoot was how sweet Jake was.  Jake, a Sophomore at that time, was always stepping up to help me with the reflector when he wasn’t being photographed and was just around all easy to be around. When his mom contacted me to take Jake’s Senior Pictures way back at the beginning of the year (I love it when people want to get on the books early!), I started looking forward to Jake’s Session!

Jake’s eyes were the stars of the photo shoot much due to his choice of blue shirts that perfectly match his eyes.  I also love how the blue looked against all of the backgrounds! Greenery, brick, cement and a brown field of St. Edwards Park!

Jake’s mom also joined us for the shoot which I loved! Guess what her job was…holding the reflector! Jake could show her how… ?

Jake, I’m wishing you all the best as you head out into your next adventure. I look forward to hearing what school is lucky enough to snag you.

All the best,

Christiana
